Miao's Saber became popular during the Ming Dynasty (1368-1644 AD) & was possibly influenced by the raiding Japanese Pirates that ran rampant during this period on the coast of China. Miao's Saber resembles a large Katana or No-Dachi.
This saber boasts a total of 50" with a 40" blade. The blade tapers from 1 1/2" down to just under 1". It is made from flexible Wu Su Spring Steel but is fairly thick and stiff at the base as is necessary for a sword of its size. This Sword remains unsharpened and was meant for Kung Fu practice or decoration.
