Click to enlarge13 Link Chain Whip Kung Fu Weapons

The chain whip evolved during the feudal era and was originally called the 10,000 power chain because it felt like it possessed the power and ingenuity of 10,000 people. The weapon is typically used to hobble, choke, and immobilize an opponent, or to hook into his clothing or body. It also served to parry and deflect other weapons such as swords by stretching the chain taut before an oncoming blade and striking the wielder with the weights connected to the chain.

This weapon was especially popular with the palace guard as it was sacrilege to spill blood on palace grounds. But by using the chain, the palace guard could strike, strangle, entrap, etc. the opponent little or no bloodshed.

The palace guard is long gone but you can still gain mastery of this weapon through practice of the traditional form in this instructional.

This instructional is on VCD, DVD compatible, see your player's manual, & playable on most computers with CD players.

The audio is in Mandarin but the video is your opportunity to see a rare form performed clearly for your viewing
